The Monthly Envelope:
Whatโ€™s Inside?

A story from a fictional Toronto kid, written as a letter. Set in a different neighbourhood each month. Did you know the city has over 158 neighbourhoods?!

The Letter

On one side, an illustrated scene from each month's neighbourhood. On the other side, a blank postcard. You can keep it, display it, or send it to someone in the mail.

The Postcard

A collectible card introducing the kid behind the letter. It features their neighbourhood, how they get around the city, what theyโ€™re currently obsessed with, and more.

The Character Profile

A double sided activity card that includes a coded puzzle where every answer lives within the letter itself, as well as a series of super fun monthly questions.

The Activity Card

Designed to live on a water bottle, a laptop, a skateboard, or a notebook. The stickers are connected to the letter and collectible over time.

The Stickers

Scan the QR code inside the envelope and hear each monthโ€™s letter read aloud by the author, exactly as it was imagined. Optional, but worth it.

The Voice Recording

NO NOTIFICATIONS. NO SCROLLING. NO ALGORITHM.

Just an envelope full of fun, and a true-to-life character with a story worth reading.

While the world moves fast, The Hyphen arrives slowly, on purpose, by post.

The Hyphen
Snail Mail for Kids

A collection of materials including a character profile of Amara, a postcard of a park pond with ducks, a sticker of a parrot with 'High Park Swansea' text, the Hyphen newsletter, an activity card about reading between lines and mood and color check, a QR code for voice recording, and several pages of the Hyphen newsletter with letters and stories.

BEFORE THE INBOX, THERE WAS THE MAILBOX.

The next envelope is already being stamped.

Somewhere out there, a kid is having a really good mail day.

Give that feeling to someone you love.
